Farming Simulator VR

Giants Software keeps expanding the Farming Simulator series. The newest addition is Farming Simulator VR, a game made for use with Meta’s virtual reality headsets.

This standalone Farming Simulator game makes it possible to do virtual farming in a very realistic first-person view.

With the help of one of the Meta Quest VR headsets you can operate authentic agricultural machinery from a number of different manufacturers such as Case IH, Claas, Fendt and John Deere. Machinery that will also be in need of maintentance. Using an electric impact wrench or a power washer the farmer can keep them in perfect condition for the field work.

And if the field work gets boring, you can also grow various crops in greenhouses. Tomatoes, eggplant, strawberries, and other crops can be picked by hand and placed in crates to be sold.

Farming Simulator VR will be available on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 3S, and Meta Quest Pro on 28 February 2025.

Farming Simulator 25 is released

Yesterday Giants Software released their latest iteration of Farming Simulator. The new Farming Simulator 25 builds upon the earlier versions in the series and has on top of a selection of the assets which were added through the DLCs to FS22 also a slew of entirely new things.

And of course a real review of the game here is in the works. (Edit: The review can now be found here.)

The three maps coming with FS25

All three maps which will be available in Farming Simulator 25 now have their separate intro videos.

In order of novelty the first one is the East Asian-inspired Hutan Pantai, which of course will be the perfect map to try out both the new rice crops as well as the new water buffalo livestock.

The second map is the American Riverbend Springs map. Even if maybe not as well-known, there are parts of the US where rice cultivation is possible and this map naturally is depicting one such area.

The third map is the Polish-inspired Zielonka map from the DLC for Farming Simulator 22, now updated to a Farming Simulator 25 map. While maybe not the most natural map to try out the rice on, it will be very good for testing out the new vegetable crops like spinach. Or the goats.

All the maps will of course make use of all the new things coming in Farming Simulator 25, such as the new weather effects, ground deformation, a built-in GPS, and more.

Farming Simulator 25 will be released on 12 November but can already be pre-ordered if you want to start as soon as you can on the 12th.

Farming Simulator 25 garage trailer

No, not that kind of trailer. The other, video thing kind. Although there’s at least one trailer to be seen in the trailer.

Farming Simulator 25 will be released November 12.

Perfect place to park

No, no super-strength mod was involved. This was accomplished with only an unloading bale wagon and a slightly low roof overhang.

The map is the Terralife Paligney mod map in case anyone wonders.

Farming Simulator – now with real weather

There’s a new batch of news from Giants Software regarding their upcoming Farming Simulator 25.

The highlights this time? Cute baby animals and challenging weather.

This new gameplay trailer clearly shows off some of the in my mind quite big improvements in the new Farming Simulator.

Getting several stages of animal growth visualized is a nice addition to the animal handling and – hopefully – also hints of other changes in this department. Plus did I mention they are severely cute?

The other big addition is in my opinion even bigger though. According to Giants, there will now be a possibility – or maybe the correct word to use is risk – for both tornadoes and hail storms. Both of which may damage both crops, trees and maybe even buildings. But don’t worry. If you for some reason don’t want such challenges in your quiet, chill farmlife, they will be able to toggle off.

FS25 news at FarmCon

The yearly FarmCon is happening in Germany and that also means that we get some new information on Giants’ upcoming Farming Simulator 25. This includes a nearly half-hour long video which shows the first actual gameplay footage.

Included is the first look on how rice is cultivated and harvested, and in that process we also get to see an rice planter from the Japanese brand Iseki. Since rice is now a thing I suspect that brand will feature more prominently in FS25 than it ever did in Farming Simulator 22.

Farming Simulator 25 announced

Giants Software today announced that Farming Simulator 25 will be released on November 12 this year for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The new version of the now classic game series will for the first time include a map, crops, and machinery suitable for East Asian farming. In other words it is time to plant and grow rice paddies.

In addition there will also in the base game be one American and one Central European map, over 20 different crops, animals – including buffalos – as well as new production chains and constructions.

The game engine itself has also got an overhaul and is now on version 10, which among other things means improved graphics and physics, providing effects like distance fog, enhanced shadows, dynamic weather effects, ground deformation, and more.

Farming Simulator 25 is already available for pre-order as standard and collector’s editions in select web stores, including Giants’ own store. Official release date is November 12, 2024.
