Pumps n’ Hoses for FS22 is now available

Creative Mesh – the former modders turned official third-party DLC-makers for Farming Simulator – are the makers of the new Pumps n’ Hoses DLC for Farming Simulator 22.

This DLC is focused on the use of liquid fertilizers in the farming and biggest new thing is the possibility to use umbilical hoses. That is hose systems that attach to tractor equipment and the feeds slurry into the spreader while the tractor is running.

In comparison with earlier DLCs, this is numerically the largest yet. With 16 pieces of equipment and on top of that also a number of new placeables, most being used for fertilizer and biogas production.

As usual, you can read more about it on its review page.

In the English countryside

This is nothing remarkable, just the usual everyday going on in the English countryside. More exactly in Attingham Park outside Shrewsbury where we recently acquired a farm. So it’s time to plow the already harvested field and to harvest the one we got while still growing.

The previous owner could have been a bit better at taking care of his fields though. Or maybe he knew he was going to sell. This is not going to be the best of yields.

Yes, the best that could be said about this field is that it sure hasn’t been subjected to any chemicals.

Starting a farm is always more expenses than income for a while. The autumn being a mix of doing the necessary field work as well as investing in some animals and equipment. Luckily there was at least one harvest that could be sold when winter arrived.

English winter do can bring snow it seems.

Attingham Park is a map mod made by GBModding. The Ford tractor is a mod by johndeere2450 and Mattxjs, and the New Holland combine is made by Tired Iron Modding and is available here.

Free Valtras

It’s update time for Farming Simulator 22 again and with that comes some new free content as well.

This time it’s a number of new tractors from the Finnish Valtra brand of which the most novel novelty is the brand new Valtra Q series. But in addition there’s also new added tractors in the A, N and T series.

Since it is an update patch – 1.7.1 to be exact – there’s of course also the usual slew of changes in addition to the new Valtras.

Welcome to Brzozówka

Hello and welcome to Brzozówka – don’t try to pronounce that if you’re not Polish or your tongue might get twisted. Our journey starts at a very logical place – the local bus stop – on our way to the agricultural equipment store to purchase a tractor to start with.

The first tractor being this one. A Zetor Forterra with 117 horsepower. While not exactly the most fancy and exclusive of tractors, it should be quite enough to get me started on the small-size farm. And it is relatively cheap which is a plus considering I have limited funds when starting from scratch.

First mission for it – pulling a subsoiler in order to break up the surface of the field that comes with the farm.

But after that it’s time for a drive back and forth to the store again in order to get a frontloader and a stone remover tool. I know there are nice, big machinery for that, but this is the cheaper way.

It would probably be a rather cumbersome and slow way to do it if the fields were bigger, but for these really small ones it works just fine and voilà, a field ready to be planted.

Brzozówka is a map made by VenTuriO and Pisel and is available in the official modhub. So are the AgroMasz Duro subsoiler by BartsoNv3 and the stone bucket by Nico Pix. The Zetor Forterra and the Quicke frontloader are base game stuff.

A slight problem in the wine cellar

So we got this idea that since there actually exist a very nice wine cellar, maybe, just maybe it could be accessible with a skid steer. After all there are ramps…

They may be a bit steep though…

I will gracefully omit to show you what happens when trying to lift a heavy wine barrel with a skid steer which is already in a 45-degree angle. Let’s just say that its lift force and distribution of mass get a bit limited.

In the end, and after some experimenting, we found out that the better option was to let them slide down on their own.

These shenanigans took place on the Italia Emilia Extension map by Edomod – which is still one of the best maps in existence for FS22.

New and old

Isn’t it beautiful? The tractor I mean. A shiny new Kubota is doing its first job. Fetching water from what probably is the most picturesque water source I’ve ever come across on a map.

The map is Edomod’s Italia Emilia Extension, the Kubota is from Giants Kubota DLC and the Joskin water tank wagon is a trusty old base game item.

ATS and ETS2 1.45 updates are out

As is usual before the launch of a new DLC map (and sometimes in between such occurences too), American Truck Simulator has got an update to version 1.45. And to illustrate the “and sometimes in between” statement I just made, the similar 1.45 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now also out.

For both games the news are ownable tank trailers, rain sensors that automatically may turn your windshield wipers on and adjust their speed as the sensors registers rain, some changes in how mods are handled in multiplayer convoy sessions, a setting that allow for hiding the out of bounds X’es on the roads

For American Truck Simulator the US-14 road and the accompanying town of Cody, Wyoming, have been added for those of you who own the Wyoming map DLC. There has also been a rebranding of many gas stations and truck stops all over the map – although probably most noticable in the “older” states – since SCS now have become much more skilled in how to make very neat such stuff.

For Euro Truck Simulator 2 there’s been an update of the German city of Hannover, which has also got a newfangled thing called custom introduction to the city. This has also been made for the Austrian cities. In addition the first phase of the implementation of functional JOST fifth wheels on trucks is included in this update.

You can read more about the 1.45 updates on SCS Software’s own blog. The one for American Truck Simulator is to be found here, and the Euro Truck Simulator 2 one is here.

Montana for ATS comes August 4

SCS Software has set a release date for their next DLC for American Truck Simulator. The map for the state of Montana will be available for purchase from August 4, 2022.

With the northernmost US state on the east slopes of the Rocky Mountains, SCS is well on the way to get American Truck Simulator rolling over the Midwest.

In addition to the map there will also be new cargo to haul in the form of utility poles, circuit breakers, a garbage truck (yes, as a cargo, not driveable), silane gas, trees, a dumpster, wastepaper and last but definitely not least, a beet harvester.
