The NEXAT Pack is the first DLC pack for Farming Simulator 25 and is somewhat unusual for an Farming Simulator DLC in that it contains one very special vehicle and add-ons that only can be used by the vehicle in question.
First of all, this machine is BIG. So big that I will have to skip the photo of all the pack contents since it proved a challenge to get all pieces into the frame. (In fact, I couldn’t even get half the contents into the store delivery area at once…)
So what is the NEXAT? The company behind the real world machine – NEXAT GmbH – was founded in Germany in 2017 by Kalverkamp Innovation and is entirely focused on this specific system. The vision is to have one single carrier vehicle which by connecting different additional units in a modular system becomes a multi-tool machine that can do most of the agricultural work that traditionally has required a number of different machines.
In practice this means that here is a machine that can do harvesting, sowing, cultivation, crop protection, and fertilization work all by simply exchanging add-on modules. And that is reflected in the DLC pack. In total there are 12 items: the self-propelled carrier base, two cultivators, a slurry module, a seeder, a planter, a weeder, a sprayer module, a seedhopper, a harvester module, and two headers for harvesting grain and maize/sunflowers respectively.

This module system makes the NEXAT into one of the most versatile machines in existence. The systems functions by connecting one, two or in some cases even three of the modules to the carrier, which then gets the ability to do the work at hand. And as the listing of modules shows, it can do a lot. In fact, with the exception of plowing and rolling, the NEXAT can on its own do the whole growing cycle. Although you still would need a trailer at the side to get the produce in at the end.
As an example, in order to become a combine harvester, the NEXAT it set up by three parts – the carrier, the adapter unit which makes it into an actual harvester while simultaneously serving as the connection point for the third header part. Once put together the combined machine then pretty much works like any harvester. With one noticeable exception. Due to its construction the cabin from which it is controlled gets situated at the extreme left side of the combine with the entire header to the right of the driver. This at first is a very odd experience (for everyone who likes to drive their machines from a first person perspective that is) and it’s not entirely helped by having a computer pad situated right where you’d like to be able to look out at the header.

Other combinations of this multi-tool works in similar fashion. In some cases like the cultivators you need to attach one of the in-between modules even if it in itself isn’t necessary for the work at hand. But it is still needed as the attachment point. On the whole it is not always entirely self-explanatory which parts are needed to go where when putting the combinations together. On my first time it took some experimenting and some extra turns around the yard before everything were slotted in place.
The animations when the carrier transforms itself from transport to work mode are smooth to look at and a little show in itself. It’s an intricate performance. Giants have also been nice to us in that they have added a shortcut command for automatic line-up of the carrier to the modules when it is time to put the machine together. Even with that it can still be a bit of a challenge to get everything together. In particular if you’re trying to do it in a limited space. These things are big!
This of course also means that this pack isn’t for those who like to do small scale farming. The NEXAT is a concept for the large industrial farm, not the family farm. In fact, before you get it in-game you may want to make sure you actually can get it to the farm and the field. On my test at the Horsch AgroVation map it took some tricky maneuvers just to get it out of the store yard.

It does takes a little time to get used to driving this behemoth. Its turning radius when in transport configuration is a bit on the challenging side and you should preferably not choose the smallest country roads for the route to the field.
Once at the field and after its transformation into work mode, the maneuverability gets better and it behaves more like any “normal” machine. Here the size of the vehicle shows off its advantage, with its 14 metre width working a big field becomes a pleasant experience.

When run by an AI worker or by following the standard set GPS route, the NEXAT seem to leave a narrow band between each sweep it does when planting or cultivating. This is due to its big wheels being positioned on the outside of the carrier and thus taking up that space.
To conclude, my feelings for the NEXAT Pack DLC are a bit mixed. On the plus side is that it is a really interesting look into a novel and quite unusual piece of technology; one which I before this pack didn’t have a clue existed in the real world. It is not only a “more of the same” pack. On the minus side is that it is at the same time a very specialized pack. If you are not interested in running a large industrial farm with big fields, this DLC is definitely not for you. And if you are, you have to be into this sort of ultra-modern farming becasuse the NEXAT system is a bit of a stand-alone system. If you go for it, you have to go with the NEXAT tools all the way since there’s no combination possibilities with other machinery.
So this DLC is a fun eyebrow-raiser of a pack, but maybe not the most essential one for the average virtual farmer unless you have a special interest in this kind of machine. It is quite simply more to be seen as a treat than a necessity.
The NEXAT Pack DLC for Farming Simulator 25 was released 11 March 2025 for both PC and consoles.
