Valentines delivery time

It’s time for the annual Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator Valentines event again. This time your personal goal requires 14 finished deliveries of Valentines Presents cargo in order to qualify for the World of Trucks Achievement and get a nice little cabin item.

The formal rules are as follows:
Using External Contracts, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both, the community goal is to achieve 600,000 deliveries of Valentine Presents cargo, from any city in any trucking territory.

When a player completes 14 deliveries of Valentine Presents cargo across any trucking territories in either game, it will complete their personal goal.

Rewards

  • Personal: Players that complete 14 or more deliveries of Valentine Presents cargo will gain a unique World of Trucks Achievement as well as a Winged Heart cabin item as a Steam inventory item for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
  • Community: When the community goal of achieving 600,000 deliveries of Valentine Presents cargo from any city is met and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a
  • Trucker’s Rose hanging item as a Steam inventory item for their cabin.

In order to qualify for any community reward, you must complete at least your personal goal in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both. Each reward will be a Steam inventory item for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Once completed, claim your reward in the Events page on your World of Trucks profile.

The event will be concluded on Sunday the 18th of February at 23:59 UTC.

Straw Harvest DLC for FS22

There has been a new free update to Farming Simulator 22. It is the Straw Harvest DLC made by Creative Mesh and which had it’s premier in Farming Simulator 17 that now exist also for the latest game in the series. So once again there is the possibility for a pellet industry and new ways to make use of the straw from the fields.

With the free Straw Harvest Pack, we get new powerful machinery from manufacturers Krone and Bressel und Lade. One of the machine highlights is the world’s first mobile pellet harvester – the Krone Premos 5000, which produces pellets by collecting straw and hay swaths from the field. Alternatively, it can be operated stationary with an additional bale shredder. Also included are two balers, the Krone BiG Pack 1290 HDP II and Comprima V180 XC alongside other machines for handling bales and pallets.

To add another layer to the gameplay, a versatile and configurable industry hall allows for storage and processing. While produced pellets can be sold, used for animal bedding, or fed to animals, the industry hall allows more possibilities through configurations – it can be used as an empty hall for parking vehicles as well as storing bales and pallets, or there could be added a hall crane to easier move bulk material, bales, and pallets. Adding an automatic palletizer, the pellets can be processed yet another step and sold at an even higher profit.

Straw Harvest can be downloaded directly in Farming Simulator 22 via the in-game ModHub and is as stated an entirely free DLC.

Manor Lords will launch April 26

The much anticipated – it recently revealed that it is on 2 million wishlists on Steam – medieval town-and-fief-builder Manor Lords will launch on April 26. From what I’ve seen and glimpsed this far from the developer’s twitter and Steam, this one-single-dev game looks very promising. In particular for us who loved Banished.

Medieval Dynasty Co-op premiers

Medieval Dynasty’s update and transformation into a co-op multiplayer game is just around the corner, and after trying out the beta, it looks very promising. With a new map, opportunities to design your player character, and a new background story with new possibilities, new vistas open up.

The cooperative game mode allows up to four players to play simultaneously. However, the new Oxbow map must then be used. The older map remains in the game but is almost now considered a separate version of the game as it was before the update. Now it’s no big loss because the scenery in Oxbow is at least as beautiful and interesting as the old map ever was. And even if you intend to play single-player, in practice Oxbow applies if you want to be able to customize your character, or play a female character.

Say hi to Matylda, the village foundling, who may or may not just have lifted some items from the castellan’s house because “Hey, the ones living here obviously are rich people and the castellan is kind of an ass anyway…”.

With the fact that player characters can now be of both sexes, the possibility for two players to create a joint family is also opened up. Unlike when only one party to the marriage is a player character and where the other NPC partner is always the one who stays home with the child for the first two years, a family consisting of two player characters will both be free to pursue other activities. The child then stays at home in his cradle instead.

Medieval Dynasty in its new Oxbow version is clearly a step forward for the game and I haven’t found any major flaws to complain about. The game seems to flow well. So for those who are looking for a calm and slow medieval existence in a graphically beautiful environment, Medieval Dynasty is now more appealing than ever.

Medieval Dynasty in multiplayer is available from 19.00 CET on December 7.

Case IH Farmall mini-DLC

A new little mini-DLC has just been released for Farming Simulator 22 in order to celebrate the 100 year anniversary for the Case IH Farmall line of tractors.

The Case IH Farmall Anniversary Pack contains three items: the first is the Case IH Farmall 1066 Hydro, a model which was manufactured between 1971 and 1976 by International Harvester – the IH in today’s Case IH – and this classic six-cylinder diesel tractor is still going strong on farms and in vintage tractor circles today. The second is the modern Case IH Farmall C Series, a smaller-sized multipurpose tractor with 120 hp, and probably a bit more comfortable than its fifty year old predecessor. The third piece in the pack is the L630 frontloader for the Farmall C.

The price for the pack on Steam and on Giants’ own site is 1,49 €.

Farming Simulator Kids coming in 2024

Giants Software is going to broaden their Farming Simulator gaming series with an all new Farming Simulator Kids geared towards, well, kids obviously. The new game is produced in cooperation with John Deere, so it is likely to include tractors and the likes from the iconic green brand.

Aimed towards younger children, the new game will focus on audiovisual presentation instead of text, and provide a child-friendly environment to play in. Virtual neighbors – including some anthropomorphic animal characters – display their needs for help and ask young players to harvest crops, or prepare a delicious sandwich.

They will also be able to explore farm locations to grow and harvest healthy crops, or care for adorable farm animals like cows, chickens, or geese in their stables. The game will include mini-games like gardening and sandwich-making as well as the possibility to visit their own farmers’ market and meet characters to interact with. As big tractors and other vehicles are a must, kids can operate a variety of John Deere machines.

“We’re thrilled beyond measure to introduce young children to farming in a playful and sheltered way,” says Thomas Frey, Creative Director at GIANTS Software. “With John Deere as our ideal partner for Farming Simulator Kids, we’re creating an educational and unforgettable – even inspiring – farming game for young players, one that may even nurture their general interest in farming.”

“It is a pleasure for us to support such an appealing project, which introduces children to agriculture in a playful way and awakens their interest in food production,” comments Stefan Mügge, Manager Marketing Communication at John Deere.

Cities: Skylines II gets good pre-release reviews

Colossal Order and Paradox’ new iteration of the bestselling Cities: Skylines gets good grades from the reviewers who have got pre-release copies of Cities: Skylines II.

On the review aggregation site Metacritic the game now has a metascore of 77/100 based on 33 reviews and the site Opencritic lists it with also 77/100.

The first Cities: Skylines game was released in spring 2015 and is Paradox’ biggest hit yet with over 12 million copies sold. It has also had a steady release of DLC:s and a very healthy modder community.
